At Care Technologies, we are in full compliance with all regulations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, 1996 which apply to the protection of patient privacy. Under HIPAA, we are a "business associate". We use secure encryption protocols to protect your data at every stage of the medical transcription process - your data will remain secure from the initial stage, when audio is dictated, through the final step of transmittal of your finished transcripts to you.
In compliance with current HIPAA regulations, Care Technologies has also deployed security procedures which limit internal access to patient and client information and bar external access to our facility. We ensure that all our transcriptionists and anyone who has access to dictation or transcribed reports understands the need to protect patient health information and patient identity, and require that they sign confidentiality agreements. Caretech also signs customized Business Associate Agreements with clients in accordance with HIPAA requirements. We continually train staff to ensure that protected health information remains secure at all times.
