Transcription Procedures

All dictation received by Care Technologies is encrypted during transmission using 128-bit encryption standards. It is then transmitted via our file management system to a transcriptionist on your account who has at least 2 years of transcription experience with reports in your medical specialty. In addition to the reports that are selected at random for comprehensive review, MTs are encouraged to seek the help of in-house reviewers with any report that he or she may have a problem with.

If, after the best efforts of the transcriptionist and/or reviewer, the report has blanks in it, for reasons such as proper names not having been spelled out or not clearly enunciated by the physician, some portion of the dictation being unclear because the doctor failed to speak clearly or background noise makes the dictation inaudible, or if the doctor's instructions are confusing, the following procedure will be followed. The report is returned with a <B> to signal a blank to be altered by the client. Blanks are kept to a strict minimum and are used, only when absolutely necessary. At Care Technologies, the rule is "no guessing under any circumstances."
